As someone who goes through bouts of demotivation as well as gonzo productivity, I'll say this much: do find some time to do nothing. And I mean truly nothing. Nothing to do with your creative work. No writing, no editing, no socials. After launching 365 #4 on Saturday, I spent yesterday watching three great films and an episode of "Ironside" and it detangled my brain to a T. There is no shame in finding time to just pump those brakes and give yourself the space to breath and rekindle the fire. Return to your inspirations out of your love for them, and remember why you're doing what you're doing.

Usually, my Sundays (unless I'm feeling super creative/motivated) are my mong out day. Yesterday, I just played Dragon Age: Inquisition all day. Still not mentally out of the toilet yet, though. I think waking up this morning just really set me back with the time change. Also, doesn't help that my job is ramping up into the busiest quarter or so for creative output. There's just a lot of shit piling on top of each other.

All I can say then is white-knuckle it best you can. You've got a lot to give, and you've got a lot of friends in the field here who want to see you back again. Best of luck good sir.

That means a lot, man... truly. I'm sure I'll be fine. Sometimes just getting the shit out also helps me get it out of the way so I can move on. I also want this Substack to continue to be a place where I chronicle the process of each project, good or bad. We all have these moments when we're serious about or stuff. So, if someone can relate and it helps them in some way, I think that's a good thing. I'm okay w/ sharing the struggle stuff too.

I speak from personal experience when I say YES. Yes 100%. Jarring it up never solves a damn thing, and I've been much better about giving myself an outlet for those frustrations. I'm probably the happiest I've been mentally right now thanks to it. All praises, Brother. Will see you on down the trail.

Knocked out a chapter this morning, so I think the juice is back.

And I broke ground on my first novella last night. Welcome back my man.
