The Substack images usually start as AI generated and then I do A LOT of revisions/edits, and then do more clean up in Photoshop, depending upon how much time I have. My actual book covers I spend more time on and do in a style that I can do easily now.
Glad to hear that for your books you do real art (I despise AI generated stuff) I'm biased, I need to see the human touch in all art. So kudos to you on that front (and I suppose if you're going to use AI stuff you should do massive revisions to it).
