When I sat down to give this some thought myself, I concluded that the most important thing to focus on if you plan to monetize is consistency. If you can consistently publish "exclusive" content, then I think it's reasonable to ask for compensation. I'm not keen to all the ins and outs of monetization on the platform, but publications seem to do best when there's a mix of free and paid content; those who don't pay won't feel excluded from following the work of an author they like, and those that do get a little something extra. Either way, godspeed!

My plan is to have a chapter weekly, but there might also be additional content mixed in. My focus, atm, is to really get cranking on the Atomic Beasts direct sequel, but I have a short story idea in my head that fills in the backstory of a minor character that does something very notable in Atomic Beasts and gets pushed more to the forefront in Book III. In fact, that short story may be more of a novella in length. I'd like to have it coming out, serialized weekly around the time I release Book III.

Also, I saw that you're off Twitter. I hope everything's okay. My email is rob.rimes@gmail.com if you ever need to reach me directly since Substack doesn't have DMs. At least, I don't think it has DMs.
