Twitter is getting really rough. Not only am I no longer growing and reaching new people, but it's getting harder and harder to reach my existing fans there who I know want to hear from me! It's very frustrating.
There's stretches where I realize I haven't seen posts from certain people I follow. I check their profile and see that they're still actively posting. The feeds are so f'd up now. I even created a tailored list, and it still omits some people that I put on that custom list.
For me, the less useful it becomes, the less I use it, and the less I use it, the less useful it becomes. The website also becomes intolerable during election years, so I might deactivate for a year.
If I want to see posts from people I follow, I often have to remember to check on them manually because my devices keep switching me away from the "Following" tab and back to "For You" but, Twitter's going to keep Twittering I suppose.
You've built a very solid foundation to BotS and I'm rooting for you to grow it into the IP of your dreams. It's been great chatting with you on Twitter and Discord and I hope it's onwards and upwards for both of us this coming year.
I noticed the same on twitter as a fan of several pages. I’m just not seeing who I want to see anymore, and it’s especially bad on the ‘For You’ page. For whatever reason it loves showing me a lot of content from everyone but the people I follow and engage with.
Thanks for not giving up. Atomic Beasts is a wild ride and I can't wait to see more. I wish we could make a movie out of it. Not in Hollywood, but on the dime with some shady film company in backwoods Spain like it's the 1980s.
My engagement is terrible as well. The same posts that got me 1500 views when I had 800 followers gives me 150 views at 1200 followers (of course many are bots).
There's a bunch of us brainstorming about how to punch through to a larger audience. Reach is really the limiting factor in the Iron Age now.
It's very different than it was a year ago. I feel like the overall enthusiasm is suffering because of it, not just my own. It's just getting to the point where Twitter might not be all that worthwhile for us anymore. But then, what else is? I'm just trying to find that formula... if it exists. I don't even think the issues are specifically Twitter, so much as it seems like we are entering a post-social media world. Or, at least, a very different social media world. We could be on the verge of something big, new, and fresh that we can't fathom yet. Maybe AI is at the forefront of that and it can be used thru a platform to finetune who we reach in some way. Idk.

I've also found some people to be muted that I did not mute.

You can mute words and terms you don't want to see. I use that feature a lot.
