The anthology is taking longer than expected, but as of this morning, I have completed the first draft of the third short story. I will have it proofed and probably edited by the end of the day, today.
I’ve already got the fourth story mapped out and will start on it, once the third receives its first round of editing.
I am still aiming for five stories, but I may actually wedge in six, after looking at the total page count with the three stories that I have already completed. The biggest of all the stories was the first one I wrote, so I feel like I have a bit more wiggle room, as I near the end of the book.
The reason why this is taking longer than I expected is because there is always that time at the beginning of writing a story, where you have to find your groove. Writing an anthology of several stories, means that I have to go through that part of my creative process several times, not just once.
In the end, though, I think that this will be a pretty satisfying release that adds a lot to the Barbarians of the Storm universe, while giving readers something new too indulge in, leading up to the third book in the larger saga.
Plus, for those who enjoy horror and darker fantasy, this book should make then pretty happy.
