The Path is Set Following "Inferno of Madness" (Updated)
...after a few days, I have the plan for the final stretch of the "Barbarians of the Storm" series
I’ll keep this short.
Following the previous post, I have decided what path I am going to take to finish the series. The next book will be an anthology. The following books will be the two-part finale. So, three books instead of trying to work everything into one bigger book.
The main reason is that I think the anthology is needed to help establish the finale’s foundation. Also, I’d rather just release the finale itself as two books for each of the two parts, bringing the series to a nice well-rounded 12 volumes (4 per story arc).
That’s pretty much it. I was hoping for some feedback, but since I got none here and on Twitter, I pulled the trigger on what I feel is the path that serves the saga best. Granted, I probably would have just followed my own gut anyway.
Update via X (1/9/2025):
As the structure is coming together while I write, the next book will be "Book V". There will be no 3rd anthology. Frankly, I can work in the important details of those stories into "Part I" of the next book. Plus, I'm just not feeling some of these ideas as their own fleshed out short stories. I don't want to force anything and would rather not write something I'm not that enthused about. Plus, leaving some events a bit mysterious just seems like a better approach to handling a time jump. While the basic plot points are important, all the extra details are not. Also, I want the reader to feel more like they are aligned w/ Fenrik when he reappears after 7 years to find his world overrun with absolute evil, his civilization destroyed & his friends/allies either dead or hiding.
Inspiring to see, bro
