The Fifth Short Story in the Upcoming Anthology is Complete
and now I move on the the sixth and final tale
A strange thing happened on the way to the sixth (and final) story. You see, the one I intended to write last, I actually finished second-to-last. The reason being, is that I started what I intended to be the fifth story, which was a direct sequel to the fourth, but I forgot to keep the file accessible over the weekend. Since I had writing time set aside to finish it, but I couldn’t, I switched gears on Sunday morning and started on the sixth tale for the book.
While I didn’t anticipate finishing it within a day, I figured that I could at least get the ball rolling, so it would be easy to pick up and crank out, once the intended fifth story was done.
However, I found my stride with this one right out the gate and just stuck with it. I actually thought it would be the shortest of the lot, and it is, but it ended up being twice as long as I had anticipated.
Good news about the fifth now sixth story, is that I already started that one and I just have to jump back in and finish it. I anticipate having it done within a week, but possibly even quicker than that, schedule and brain permitting.
Once this last story is done, the book is done. Well, the first full draft, anyway.
I have already proofread and edited the stories, as I have finished them, but I like to double and triple check everything before I go to the publishing stage. That being said, the release of the next book is pretty damn close.
As always, I’ll write up an update once the next tale is done. By then, I should have a pretty good idea on when the book will be released.
For now, enjoy the new short story’s promo art and visual Easter eggs above.
