Who’s the chick? I guess you’ll have to wait and find out in the next book. I’m not revealing any of the details yet, but being that it is the first Side Quest book in the Barbarians of the Storm series, means that it could be much different than what has come out already. Regardless of that, the book will star Fenrik and this new character. Well, several new characters.
At this point, I have two chapters complete and am in the middle of the third. I’m flying through the first draft pretty quickly, as this book is refreshing in how different it is and because it lets me play in a different genre but one I very much love. That’s not to say that it’s an extreme departure in tone, action, and fun, it’s just not going to be quite sword and sorcery. More on that, as I get closer to completion.
For now, that’s it. With the success of Swords Against Bastards, I have been extremely motivated the last few weeks. The creativity is flowing and I’d be an idiot to not get to work while it is. I have some challenging goals this year, but I’m pretty confident that the next book will continue to expand on what it is I am building with my literary world.
Plus, after the events of Swords Against Bastards, readers (and myself) need to have a little fun before dealing with the direct fallout of that darker, world changing story.
