I wanted to spend some time writing this weekend. It was difficult for whatever reason, but this morning I woke up ready to crush out the third act of the next book.
I knocked out the largest chapter, thus far, as well as the biggest sequence other than the grand finale at the end. This chapter has brought me a lot closer to the finale, though, and I think that if momentum continues, I can have the first draft done relatively quickly now.
Getting that draft done doesn’t mean that the book is complete, as I will still have to proofread and edit everything. Usually, there are a few rounds of proofing and editing. During that process, I will beef up scenes and potentially add a few new ones to help make the story more fluid and coherent.
Once all of that is completed, there is still the short story, but I already have some of that done.
My goal, which I don’t think I’ve shared yet, was to have this next installment of the Barbarians of the Storm series out sometime in April. I’d prefer early to mid-April but we shall see. I think that’s obtainable, but I also don’t want to rush the post-production side of things.
I feel much more motivated than I did a week ago and things are clicking creatively again. Hopefully, life and the real job don’t throw anymore curveballs for a few more weeks.
