This is just a quick update, as focusing my time on getting the book done is a priority, right now.
I spent the weekend working out the general plot for the short story at the end of Book II. While I’m still not 100 percent sure if I’m going to do it, I wanted to at least have it somewhat mapped out before I finish the main story.
If I do it, though, it’s probably not going to be as long as the short story in the first book. I really just need it to elaborate on an important part of the plot for the book series, as a whole.
Other than that, I wrote the penultimate chapter, wasn’t completely happy with it, so I cut it off at the part where it shifted gears in a way I didn’t like and then rewrote it. I beefed it up and made it closer to what I had initially intended before it ran away from me.
I’ve also proofread and edited the first 18 chapters. Once the book is complete, I will do another read through and with that, more edits. With the first book, I think I actually went through about four drafts, starting with the story in its original form, a graphic novel script.
As I write this, I’m now in the middle of chapter 20, possibly the last. I want to go out with a bang, setting up Book III, which will pick up immediately where Book II leaves off and should round out the first three pulp novels into a loose trilogy.
I’m mentally exhausted and need to rest my brain for awhile, so with that, this is it for now.
