"Barbarians of the Storm, Book IV - An Axe to Eat the Gods" is Written!
...just a very quick update
This is just a very quick update, as my time needs to be spent getting this thing finalized and published.
From my Discord:
BOOK FINISHED, MFers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still have to do the final proofing, editing, beefing up a bit, and all that. I have decided against doing a short story because this thing is so f'n BIG and because the events of that short story are summarized in dialogue. I will likely show more detailed scenes of that event in the next saga book (Book V). I will start the final process over the weekend and it will carry into next week, but this book is probably a week or less away from release... unless I encounter some major issue. I probably won't but the book's length has me a bit paranoid.
Current stats at the end of writing: 32 chapters, 231 pages, 63k words
Additionally:
I think this is my favorite book, overall. It was the most difficult to write not just because of its size. The final battle was an immense challenge w/ its multiple phases and trying to utilize all the characters' talents in different ways against an unconquerable foe. It also brings a lot of unlikely allies together and that's not easy and does go sideways for some characters. It also brings the series endpoint into much clearer sight and concludes some plot threads. I can't really say that Fenrik was fully a "man" until this story. Nor can I say that Erzulyn and Dan were complete until now. And Vasilia gets some pretty big power moments... and the greatest mount any warrior could ride.
I’m sorry I haven’t updated here as much as I’d like to. As you can see, this book has been a beast. But, I’m now in the home stretch and hope to get it out maybe within a week.
After that, there are a few new articles I want to write here.
Hell yeah, dude! Congratulations!
Congrats man! You're killing it!
