Well, I started and finished the Magnar short story within 72 hours. Not a record, but still a pretty good f’n turnaround, as I was trying to pace myself at a chapter per day and was shooting for 5 or 6 and possibly an epilogue. This ended up being 5 chapters with an epilogue. I also rewrote the epilogue three times because it wasn’t hitting the level of intensity I thought it needed.
So, as it stands, the anthology has the long-awaited first Elizabeth (and Steve) story as its main event and biggest tale - it’s novel length. Then there is the Fenrik and Seawolf short story, as well as the Magnar (Fenrik’s brother) short that I just finished.
Up next is a Killer and Bozmir short that will take place after their story found at the end of Fenrik 1984 and before Killer finally makes it home to Agamemnon in the upcoming Book IV.
Once that’s done, I think the book will be done. So, we are getting really f’n close to the sixth book in the Barbarians of the Storm franchise. After real world bullshit delayed my productivity, it feels good to be so close to the next big release.
