Well, I thought I would start writing the next book at the start of next week. I have spent last week and this week mapping it out and organizing all the plot threads and character’s planned trajectory. I’ve especially been focused on the first act of the book, as I need to cover a lot of ground to set up the second phase in the main saga.
This morning, however, I felt that I was pretty much where I needed to be. So, I started writing the opening scene for Book IV (the 7th overall). I figured I’d get down a paragraph or so to at least get the ball rolling. An hour later, I was over four pages deep.
While I was having personal shit get in the way of the previous book, A Crown of Furious Color, I blasted through it once I found my stride again. The good news, is that I think I’m still on that stride. Where I normally take a few weeks to a month off between books, I just couldn’t this time around and I needed to keep writing.
I can’t say that this rapid trajectory will maintain over the course of the next novel, but I must push forward if I’ve got the drive and the mental fuel.
That’s about it, I guess. I just wanted to update Barbarians of the Storm readers and let them know that Book IV is fully in production at this point. I’m aiming to have it out by the end of the year. *fingers crossed*
The latest from the Eye of the Storm! Glad to hear. Also, we need more koalas smoking stogies and wielding swords. Has to be done. Maybe I'll get on that, who knows lol.
It's always a lovely surprise when you can ride the high of previous work to get an early start on the next stage. I have a lot of catching up to do with many authors and writers on the site, yourself included, but I'm looking forward to having the time to explore these books of yours.
