Well, it’s official! Get the paperback for An Axe to Eat the Gods HERE!
The Kindle version will probably be available within a week. I just greatly prefer paperbacks and wanted to make sure that those who want physical books, have a bit of an edge in getting them in their hands before those with access to instant downloads. My “day one” paperback bros (and bras) are my most loyal and I don’t want anything spoiled for them! I protect my flock.
With previous books I know that I have said “This was the hardest book I’ve ever written!” and that “This is my favorite!”, but that has never been more true than with this one.
This book is a beast compared to the other Barbarians of the Storm books. It’s larger than any other story I have done by quite a bit. Sure, it’s certainly not a doorstop phone book fantasy brick, but for a pocketbook sized pulp novel, it’s THICC. The story is twice the size of the main story in Dan the Destructor. It also has a unique format, as it is broken into four parts. I think that’ll make sense when you read it.
Because of its size and changed format, I did not add a short story on at the end. I had an idea and a plan for one, but I thought that it would be too much with a main story bigger than all the other books, just on its own. Plus, the most important details of what that story would have been were covered by dialogue in the epilogue.
I’m really tired. So, I’m going to STFU and take a breather for a bit. But, having the book done, allows me to write a few new Substacks that have been put on the backburner for the last few months.
Congrats bro! That's freaking awesome!
Congrats on the release, Rob!
