"A Crown of Furious Color & Other Stories" is Written!
...now it just needs the final readthrough and edits
As of this morning, I finished the fifth and final story for the next anthology, A Crown of Furious Color & Other Stories, which is the sixth book overall in the Barbarians of the Storm series. What’s that crazy image above you ask? Well, that’s the reference piece for the story I finished today. It will be the one that kicks off the anthology.
I will have a pretty damn busy weekend proofreading, editing, and putting the finishing touches on these five tales. The book, as I worked on it, took very different turns than what I originally planned as far as its content. I nixed stories here and there as different ideas came to me, and with that, this book has a really unique tone to it. It’s not blatantly horror like the first anthology, but it still has a few terrifying tales and monsters.
Frankly, I am really happy with the stories here. In fact, I’d say I’m ecstatic and can’t wait for the book to get into people’s hands. This is the start of the second big story arc in the franchise, so I wanted to establish a lot of new things while also writing some really fresh and different stuff.
For now, I need to get to work editing. I barely had enough time for this post, but I wanted to keep all my readers in the loop. More next week, when I have a better grasp on the book’s actual release date. It will be very soon… maybe even next week.
